OUR REGION
Welcome to our little village Vérines. This place is ideally located to discover our coastal province.
From beaches to ports, from salt marshes to fortifications, from oyster ponds to vineyards, the Charente-Maritime invites you to discover numerous wonderful sites and places which remain often undetected by the public.
This region rich in history and culture has also an opulent gastronomy to offer.
Furthermore the Charente-Maritime is the province with the most sunshine hours on the French West Coast.

La Rochelle: the port, the towers, the old town centre, the maritime museum, the aquarium, the yacht harbour (the largest in Europe), the casino and many events (Francofolies, Grand pavois, International Film Festival of the sea…)
Chatelaillon: the beaches, the walks at the seaside, the aquatic centre, the talassotherapie, the mini-golf, the casino
Rochefort-sur-Mer: town of art and history, the Corderie Royal, the Hermiones’s ship yard, Pierre Loti’s house, the thermal baths, Résonandes festival
L’île de Ré (Ré Island): the beaches, the little villages, the fortified town Saint-Martin-de-Ré, bicycle rides, salt marshes
Yves Nature Reserve: guided tours to discover the fauna and flora of our region

Ile d’Aix (Aix Island): access by boat only, island ideally discovered by foot or by bicycle
Ile Madame (Madame Island): this little island can be reached by foot at low tide
Brouage: National site, citadel of the 17th century, ramparts, the Press Festival, the Otario cognac-cellar
Venise verte: boat carriage, fishing, bicycle rides, horse rides…
Vouvant: small fortified village, Mervent forest
Ile d’Oléron (Oléron Island): oyster farming, citadel, beautiful coloured villages, sea angling, dunes, huge beaches and Fort Boyard
